So, if you're in town for the long weekend what's on the music radar?

Thursday
One of the best sounding rooms in town - the Alberta Street Pub - has James Low and band for happy hour ... 6 pm, no cover

Lewi Longmire and the Left Coast Roasters does an extended "happy hour" from 7 - 10 pm at the Laurelthirst ... no cover

At the Alberta Rose it's the Jay Farrar Duo with special guest Johnny Irion .. 8 pm, $28

MarchFourth plays an all ages show at Revolution Hall ... 9 pm, $17

Friday
It's Little Sue and Lynn Conover at the Laurelthirst Happy Hour (6 pm, no cover). Then stay for the later show with the Rose City Kings (9:30 pm, $8)

Lace up the dancin' shoes for Pete Krebs and His Portland Playboys at the Secret Society ... 6 pm, $6

Andy Stokes returns to Portland with a show at the Alberta Rose ... 8 pm, $25

The Sportin' Lifers Trio is at the Muddy Rudder ... 8 pm, no cover

Richard Buckner, the iconic Canadian songwriter, and Kasey Anderson are at Bunk Bar ... 9:30 pm, $14
Saturday
Saturday afternoon music! Catch Kris Deelane & the Hurt at the Alberta Street Pub at 3 pm ... no cover

King Louie (Louis Pain) and LaRhonda Steele are at Southfork ... 7 pm

At the Alberta Rose it's From Maxville to Vanport - a "multi-media concert of songs and video for the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble featuring vocalist Marilyn Keller that tells the story of two little-known Oregon towns and the diverse residents that made them unique." ... 7:30 pm, $25 - 35

Talented Brit soul/blues band the James Hunter Six are at the Aladdin. Hunter is a very soulful singer and his band is tight ... 8 pm, $25

Rich Layton & the Troublemakers will swampify Texas-style the Rock Creek Tavern ... 8 pm, no cover

Jennifer Smieja and band will be at the intimate Corkscrew Wine Bar in Sellwood ... 8 pm, no cover

It's Latin funk with Sabroso at Mississippi Pizza ... 9 pm, $10

Sunday
Kudos to those of you with David Byrne tickets ... will be an awesome show at the Keller! If you don't have tickets, it's sold out.

But you could also go to Mississippi Studios for the celebration of Bob Dylan's 77th birthday with a host of Portland notables like Lewi Longmire, Little Sue, Mike Coykendall, Kory Quinn and more ... 7:30 pm, $12
