What a fine Waterfront Blues Festival ... the Food Bank not only made it's goal, but every day proved a treat for the ears ... there were some standout performances from touring bands and locals alike .... highlights for me included Galactic with Cyril Neville (one of the best closing sets to the festival I remember), Trombone Shorty, Mingo Fishtrap, Super Chikan, Andre Theiry & Zydeco Magic, Paul Cebar, Chris Thomas King and JJ Grey & Mofro. On the local side, the Too Loose Cajun Band, Bob Shoemaker, Steve Kerin & Atomic Gumbo, Lloyd Jones & Mac Potts, Kolvane, Reggie Houston and, of course Curtis Salgado turned in great sets throughout the weekend.

Tony Furtado is also supposed to be playing tonight at Music on Main Street, between the Schnitz and Newmark theater. Might be a little toasty, but Tony is an awesome player!
