The Musicianer screening Sunday afternoon

Some of you may know the work of award-winning independent filmmaker Beth Harrington. That work includes two outstanding music documentaries she's produced and directed: the Grammy-nominated Welcome to the Club: The Women of Rockabilly (2002) and the outstanding The Winding Stream - The Carters, The Cashes, and The Course of Country Music (2014). She came to my attention when I saw Welcome to the Club ... and then found out she was a fellow grad of the Newhouse School at Syracuse University, lived in Vancouver, WA, and passionate about music and music history.

Beth's latest project isn't a documentary, but an original music-driven digital TV series called The Musicianer that she's written, produced and directed.

On Sunday, Beth will premier the pilot episode at the Kiggins Theater in Vancouver. Along with the episode, there'll be a performance by stars Petunia (Marcel Petunia of Petunia & the Vipers), who plays the Musicianer, and Grey DeLisle Griffin. There'll also be a Q&A with Beth, Petunia, Grey and co-star Lowell Deo.

Tickets are $10 and it starts at 1 pm. Advance tickets are at the Kiggins website.

Here's a story about the series and pilot from today's The Columbian.

Hope to see ya there!
