Great music choices this weekend!

Lotta music, people! On the festival front there's Festa Italiana going on all weekend in Pioneer Square with music, food and activities. Also thru the weekend, it's the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival in Esther Short Park. Saturday, it's the Jade International Night Market, and on Sunday it's the Hawthorne Street Fair.

Friday
Early ... how about Pete Krebs & His Portland Playboys at Secret Society ... 6 pm, $6

The dual talents of Amanda Shires and Lilly Hiatt make for a great double bill at the Alberta Rose Theater ... 8 pm, $27.50

Pink Martini does the first of their annual weekend shows at the Oregon Zoo (also Saturday) ... 7 pm, $38 +

Marcia Ball
Across the river at the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival, the headliner Friday is the fabulous (and one of my very favorite musicians/human beings) Marcia Ball. Also check out the lineup for Saturday and Sunday as it's pretty strong ... 8:30 pm, $20

The Bobby Torres Ensemble is at Arrividerci Wine Bar in Milwaukie ... 8 pm

The Sportin' Lifers are at the Muddy Rudder in Sellwood ... 8 pm

The Jack London Revue hosts the Tezeta Band ... 9:30 pm, $12

Saturday
Early ... check out the duo of Spud Siegel and Turtle Vandermaar at the Goose Hollow Inn ... 6 pm

Rich Layton & the Troublemakers are at McMenamin's Rock Creek Tavern ... 8 pm

James Clem is at the Muddy Rudder ... 8 pm

The Little Sue Band is at the Laurelthirst ... 8 pm

The Strange Tones are at The Blue Diamond ... 8 pm

Soul Vaccination is at the Trails End Saloon in Oregon City ... 8:30 pm

Sunday
It's the last Pickin' on Sunday show at the Doug Fir with Lewi Longmire and the Left Coast Roasters ... 3 pm

The Minus 5 will do a happy hour show at the Alberta Street Pub ... 5 pm

Sister Mercy is at Millennium Park in Lake O ... 6 pm
