The Oregon Zoo hosts a great double bill of John Hiatt & the Combo, and the Taj Mahal Trio. John is out supporting a fine new CD and Taj is always entertaining and engaging ... to pros will show you a fine time ... 7 pm, $30 (not many tix left!)

Thad Beckman is leaving Portland after 10 years and moving to Denver. He'll be doing a farewell show tonight at O'Connor's at 8 PM ... come out and wish him well in his new city ... Portland's loss is Denver's gain! ... 8pm, $7

It's Music Millennium's Customer Appreciation BBQ from 11 am to 6 pm ... come out and celebrate with some food, drink, and great music outside ...
Get our for some Groovin' on the Grass at the HTC Recreation Complex in Beaverton with Robert Cray, Shemeka Copeland, and Thad Beckman ... $5, gates open at 4 pm ...

At the Laurelthirst, it's a really fun triple-bill of Ron Rogers & the Wailing Wind, Pretend Sweethearts, and Darka Dusty and Miri Stebivka ... 9:30 pm, $7

One of the best New Orleans piano players hits town with a gig at The Goodfoot ... Jon Cleary ... OMG! Jon and his trio hit the stage at 9:45 ... so don't be late! They'll be followed by The Goodfoot Allstars .... $10
