For a little later this evening:
There's a couple of great bands out of Mali at the Aladdin tonight - Vieux Farka Toure (the son of the great Malian guitarist Ali Farka Toure), along with his cousin, Ibrahim Kelly and the Dusu Mali Band.  This will be a soaring evening of pan-African sounds ... 8 pm, $15

It's jazz tonight at the Alberta Rose Theater with vocalist Lucy Woodward. Pianist Ben Darwish opens ... 8 pm, $16

Big Monte & The Precious Darlings are at the Trails End Saloon ... 8 pm, no cover
