Monday, Monday ... and a peak at Tuesday

Couple of things you might want to be aware of ...

As part of the always enjoyable Reel Music film series at the Northwest Film Center, there will be a screening of Portland Mojo: How Stumptown Got The Blues at the Whitsell Auditorium at the Portland Art Museum. It's at 7 pm ($8), but you might want to get your ticket in advance. And after the film there will be a no-cover show at the Mission Theater featuring a number of the artists featured in the film. Should be a fun Monday night.

Portland's music community has really stepped up to raise money in response to the earthquake in Haiti (anyone surprised? I'm not.) In a continuing effort by various strands of the community, there's a benefit Monday night at The Woods - the All Souls Rising Benefit for Haiti will feature Nick Jaina, Builders and Butchers, and Tu Fawning. All proceeds will go to Mercy Corps. Great reason to head out on a Monday night ... 9 pm, $10

... and speaking of The Woods ... remember that Tony Furtado does his second of three Tuesday gigs this week. Music will start at 8 pm and this week's announced featured guests are Stephanie Schneiderman, Garett Brennan, and Scott Law. This was a great show last week and a bargin at $6. Don't miss this one.
