Fairs, celebrations, BBQs and music!

Whoa ... I recommend staying outdoors on Saturday for some fine free summer events that include lots of music. And no complaining about the weather - it will be cloudy in the upper 70s!

It's the annual Alberta Street Fair where there'll be three stages of music. Great stuff to check out all day!

It's also Music Millennium's 26th annual Customer Appreciation BBQ with music from 11 am - 6 pm in the MM parking lot, food, beer, prizes and more. Come out and say hi and thanks to Terry Currier and his great MM team.

Help KBOO celebrate 50 years of community radio with a block party. There'll be music from noon to 10 pm. SE 8th Ave between Ankeny and Ash streets.

Cascade Zydeco is holding their annual picnic at Frenchman's Bar Regional Park in Vancouver from noon to 4 pm.

If that's not enough for Saturday, head over to Laurelhurst Park for the Portland Festival Symphony with Special Guest 3 Leg Torso at 6 pm.

If you're not too tired after a full day of running from event to event, I'd recommend hitting the World Famous Kenton Club for at roots music night with Big Sandy & the Jumptown Aces. ... 8 pm $10
