Let's have a ball ... it's Carnival time!

Tis the season ... so costume up (or just grab a mask) and come out the the Mysti Krewe of Nimbus 8th Annual Mardi Gras Ball on Saturday, February 10. Like last year it will be held at the Tiffany Center, and as always, will be a ton of fun.

This year's theme is Rollin' on the River, not just a reference to John Fogerty's tune Proud Mary (though most of you will reference Tina Turner, who had a huge hit and pretty much "owns" the song), but honoring the importance of rivers in the culture and history of Portland and Louisiana.

You can find all of the details at PortlandMardiGras.com, And purchase tickets here.Tickets are just $25 and going fast! Festivities begin at 7 pm and musical guests are the Bridgetown Sextet, the BrassRoots Movement Brass Band, the Northwest Bone Gang, the Too Loose Cajun/Zydeco Band, and the Karen Lovely Band.

Through the ball the Krewe is also doing a fundraising activity -- this year raising money for Oregon's Crag Law Center and the Louisiana Environmental Action Network (LEAN). The focus is on organizations that provide essential support to grassroots organizations fighting for environmental justice, protection, and restoration both in the Northwest and on the Gulf Coast. More info can be found on the Krewe's Goode Werks page. You can make a secure donation at the page, add a donation to your ticket purchase, or make a donation at the ball.

Hope to see you there!
