Quick Picks for June 10

At the cusp of summer, there's music in the air. Outdoors, indoors ... it's here and more coming. I'll post my annual summer list soon ... hopefully next weekend. In the meantime, here's some options for today.

Early June weather is still iffy for big outdoor shows, but maybe it will clear enough to not be too soggy at Edgefield for John Mellencamp, Carlene, Carter, and Jewel so you can actually enjoy your $140 ticket ... 6 pm

Drier, cheaper options of no lesser quality include ...

The Muddy Rudder in Sellwood is celebrating its 10th anniversary with some special performances - today at 4:30 pm and 8 pm, it's Terry Robb and Lauren Sheehan.  No cover.

There's a couple of fine 6 pm happy hour options - Redray Frazier and Ezra Hollbrook are at O'Neill's, and Kris Deelane & the Hurt are at the Laurelthirst. Tough choice there! No cover for either. But as always, tip generously!

Jon Koonce is doing a show at Salon Thirteen (1237 SE Stark St) ... 8 pm, $10

Westsiders ... Lewi & the Left Coast Roasters are at the Rock Creek Tavern ... 8 pm, no cover

Midnight's Children are at Solae's Lounge ... 9 pm, no cover

Sassparilla is at the Doug Fir ... 9 pm, $16
