Hot weekend! So is the music!

A few weekend events to be aware of where you can find live music include ...

Good in the Hood multicultural music and food festival is happening at Lillis Albina Park (North Flint Street & Russell St.) ... tonight through Sunday.

The Great Big Fais Do-Do also starts tonight with music and dancing all weekend ... country, Cajun, and a whole lot of fun ...

Chill at the Secret Society with Pete Krebs and the Portland Playboys ... 6 pm, $6

Sarah Gwen Peters is at the Starday Tavern ... 6 pm, no cover

Evan Way of the Parson Redheads continues his Al's Den week-long residency tonight and tomorrow ... 7 pm, no cover

Great weather for the two big outdoor shows tonight ... John Prine show at the Zoo and Ziggy Marley at Edgefield. Both are are at 7 pm and sold out, but show up and you might find a ticket if you're patient!

One of the most intense songwriters out of Texas (and of course, a fair storyteller, too), Eric Taylor is in town at the Fremont Theater. He's joined by one of our best songwriters and pickers, Thad Beckman ... 7 pm, $20

The Sportin' Lifers Trio are at the Muddy Rudder in Sellwood ... 8 pm, no cover

It's a night of top-shelf acoustic music at Artichoke Music led by mandolin maestro Brian Oberlin and the Big North Duo ... 7 pm, $15

Sara Watkins and Langhorn Slim will be at the Aladdin (maybe the best show of the weekend) ... 8 pm, $25
