St Pat's and more weekend music

Well, if you don't have have a ticket for the sold out KMRIA St. Pat's show at the Doug Fir, none of the following suggestions will be quite like the joyful debauched celebratory tribute to the Pogues ... but oh, well ... you can still drink beer at these:

The Starday Tavern has Buzz Holland for happy hour ... rumor is Buzz might sing an Irish tune if provoked ... 6 pm, no cover

The Sportin' Lifers do their monthly happy hour show at the Secret Society ... 6 pm, $5

Cracker plays an early all ages show at Lola's Room at the Crystal ... 6:30 pm, $22

A couple of fine songwriters, Pat Hull and Garrett Brennan, are at the Fremont Theater ... 7 pm, $10 

Westsiders ... the Quebe Sisters - who have shared the stage with luminaries from Willie Nelson and Amos Lee - are fiddling virtuosos from Texas and will be at the Walters Cultural Arts Center ... 7:30 pm, $26

It was sad to hear that Duff's Garage will be closing next month, but there's some great shows coming up, including The Strange Tones tonight ... 9 pm, $??
Portland Country Underground with special guest WC Beck will be at the Laurelthirst ... 9:30 pm, $7

OK - if you want Irish, I'd recommend ... 
The world-renowned fiddler, Kevin Burke, will be at the Alberta Rose ... 8 pm, $30

Bob Soper, Elizabeth Nicholson & Preston Howard are at the Muddy Rudder ... 8 pm, no cover

And there'll be traditional Irish music at the Alberta Street Pub ... 9 pm, no cover

Saturday
Catch Redray Frazier and band at the Laurelthirst for happy hour ... 6 pm, no cover

Stay later at the 'Thirst and catch the high energy of the Rose City Kings ... 9 pm, $8

Trio Subtonic will be groovin' at The 1905 ... 7 pm, no cover

Melao De Cuba Salsa Orchestra get hips and shoulders swiveling on the dance floor at the Secret Society ... 8:30 pm, $10

The Saloon Ensemble and the Libertine Belles will be swingin' at Mississippi Pizza ... 9 pm, $??

The Garcia Birthday Band goes dead at the Goodfoot ... 10 pm, $10

Kory Quinn is at the Ranger Station ... 9 pm, no cover
