What's up this week?

Good week of local and touring music in Portland.

The big touring shows (if you haven't heard) are at the Moda Center - Justin Timberlake on Thursday night and Fleetwood Mac on Saturday. I know more folks heading to the latter. And it's great that Christine McVie is back to performing (was my fave voice and writer in the band).

Early music tonight?
Try Zak Borden at the Laurelthirst (6 pm) or the Garcia Birthday Band at Al's Den ( 7 pm, through Saturday)

Later music?
A wonderful singer/songwriter who infrequently passes through town - Richard Shindell - is at the Alberta Rose ... 8 pm, $25

Out of New Orleans, the Grammy-nominated Andrew Duhon and his trio are at Mississippi Pizza ... 9:30 pm, $8

Laura Ivancie is at the East Burn ... 8 pm, no cover

Stringed Migration is at Biddy McGraw's ... 9 pm, no cover

Thursday
For early music, try The Ukeladies at the Secret Society ... 6 pm, no cover
... or Ron Rogers & The Wailing Wind at the Kennedy School ... 7 pm, no cover

Later?
How about Karen Lovely with special guest Ellen Whyte is at Vie d'Boheme ... 8 pm, $5

More on the weekend soon!
