Music for a rainy weekend ...

So the weather gets drippy ... hey, it's that season again! So, why not stay dry and happy at a venue of your choice.

Fine night of locals with ...

Early music:

Pete Krebs and his Portland Playboys happy hr at Secret Society ... 6pm, $5

Later ...
Lloyd Jones - full band with the Atlas horns, and special guest Steve Kerin at Jimmy Mak's ... the joint will be jumpin'! ... 8 pm, $12

Joe McMurrian solos at the Muddy Rudder ... 8 pm, no cover

The Djangophiles at Vie de Boheme ... 8 pm, $??

... and a really fine touring singer/songwriter who flies a bit under the radar - Peter Mulvey - is at the Old Church. One of the reasons Milwaukee, WI has a great music scene. Highly recommended! ... 8 pm, $18

Two of my favorite Austin residents hit town the same night ... Patty Griffin will play to a sold out house at the Aladdin (8 pm, $45) ... if you don't have a ticket, you can try your luck at the door or via Craigslist.
