Music that works over Labor Day weekend

Quick post about a few shows of note ...
If you're headed to Art in the Pearl, there's live music ... here's the schedule.

There's also music at the Portland Film Festival ... including Swansea, Ezza Rose, and Casey Neill & the Norway Rats at Wallace Park from 4:30-7:30 pm ... followed by one of the festival's featured films.

Also Saturday ...

It's a Brazilian Jazz Night with vocalist Nancy Curtin, guitartist Alfredo Muro and pianist Tom Grant at the Milagro Theater ... sold out, but tickets will be available at the door ... 8 pm, $20

Annie b/w One Last Chance cover art Rich West Blatt has a CD release show at the Secret Society with The Lonesomes and The Swearengens ... 9 pm, $8 (includes copy of new CD, "Just Like A Fool") tickets 
Photo: Dueling "RAL" Birthdays coming up… Richard Allen Layton and Richard Alan Landar and too many effn' candles!!!Guess it's an evening of Riches, with Rich Layton & the Troublemakers and Rich Lander's band West Coast Bayou Boys turning Mississippi Pizza into a Texas/Louisiana roadhouse birthday celebration ... 9 pm,  $7
The Devin Phillips Quartet is at Wilf's ... 7:30 pm, $10
The Reverend Horton Heat raises holy hell at the Star Theater ... 9 pm, $20
And on Sunday at the Laurelthirst there's a benefit for local musician Lynn Conover who is recovering from hip replacement surgery. The show features the Freak Mountain Ramblers, Lewi Longmire, Gravel, Little Sue, Jeremy Wilson, Bob Shoemaker, and others ... 6 pm
