Rainy weekend music

Ah, spring rains (spring reigns?) ... how about music reigns?

One of my favorite locals, Stephanie Schneiderman, will be at Jimmy Mak's. This will be an intimate acoustic show with special guests Hanz Araki (who will also open), Tony Furtado, and Bree Paletta ... 8 pm, $12

The Alberta Rose hosts a Ukulele Extravaganza presented by the Portland Ukulele Association ... Tiny Tim would be pleased ... 8 pm, $15

Lloyd Jones is the special guest of the Supraphonics at the Secret Society (sounds like he going to some fun with phonics!) ... 9 pm, $10

The soulful and topical Cody Chestnut is at Mississippi Studios ... 9 pm, $18

And, it's some hot swing with the Libertine Belles at Vie d'Boheme ... 9 pm, $5

It's a Louisiana Music & Dance Party at the Norse Hall (111 NE 11th at Couch) with the Too Loose Cajun/Zydeco Band and the Fais Do Do Allstars featuring Reggie Houston, Paul Brainard, Peter Dammann, and Steve Kerin ... lace up those dancin' shoes! ... Music from 7:15 - 11:00 pm, $15 ... And all profits will go to the Oregon Food Bank.

Picker alert! Dobro ace Jerry Douglas is at the Aladdin ... 8 pm, $25

Celtic music alert! ... Solas with special guests Colleen Raney and Hanz Araki will be at the Alberta Rose ... 8 pm, $28 ($25 advance)

Some fine blues and r&b from Tommy Castro and the Painkillers can be heard at the Alberta Rose. Kevin Selfe & the Tornadoes open ... 8 pm, $25 ($20 advance)

And the amazing Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings are at the Crystal Ballroom. Sharon is back on tour after cancer treatment, and this is her much anticipated return to Portland. Interview and music here ...8 pm, $30 ($25 advance, tickets)

Ok ... get out to some live music!
