If you're a hound for music, it's the dog days of August

Hope you've been getting out and about for some great live music this summer. Personally, I've only made a small percentage of what's been going on, so I hope you all have been doin' your share!

There's a cool new music calendar you should check out - it's called Portland Live and looks like the most comprehensive listing of Portland shows anyone has put together (finally!). Tip - change the view from Grid to List (via the icons on the right - you'll see more on the page and they will load faster. Click the name of the artist or the venue for more information.

Check out Oregon Music News' Get Out! picks for the weekend, that starts tonight with the Deschutes Brewery Annual Street Fair ... and continues with a great set of recommendations through Sunday.

What can I add to that list?
Tonight -
Curtis Salgado @ Raleigh Hills Park (6 pm, free)
The Midnight Serenaders @ Berrydale Park SE 92nd & Taylor, 6:30 pm, free)
Lewi Longmire happy hour at the Laurelthirst (6 pm, no cover)
Blues artist Kelly Hunt at the Alberta Rose (8pm, $18)
The Cabin Project and Will West & the Friendly Strangers @ Mississippi Studios (9 pm, no cover)

Friday -
