New spot for jazz is Touche (good story about it in Oregon Music News) ... tonight the sublime vocals of Nancy King ... 8:30 pm, no cover

Another fine jazz show is at Tony Starlight's - the program is called Chet Baker and Jerry Mulligan Revisited and will present classic tunes recorded by the Baker/Mulligan quintet ... 7:30 pm, $7

Swing Papillon is at the Press Club ... 8:30 pm, no cover

Mike Midlo (Pancake Breakfast) is in the middle of a week residency at Al's Den (in the Crystal Hotel) with special guests each night ... music begins at 7 pm, no cover

The Piano Throwers do the heavy lifting at the Laurelthirst ... 9:30 pm, no cover

and, The Builders and The Butchers begin two nights at the Doug Fir ... 9 pm, $12
