At the Doug Fir it's the critically acclaimed The Low Anthem. Have it on best authority that this band is well worth checking out live ... 9 pm, $15

Two excellent singer/songwriters - Tift Merritt and Stephen Kellogg - will be at Mississippi Studios ... 8:30 pm, $22 (seated show)

At the Alberta Rose it's Northern California's Mumbo Gumbo and local world music fave's the Brothers of the Baladi ... 8 pm, $10

Point Juncture, WA has a CD release show at The Woods ... 9 pm, $8

Solid jazz show at the Secret Society Ballroom with Blue Cranes and Gutbucket ... 9 pm, $8

Heads up ... tomorrow afternoon starts the annual Silverton Wine & Jazz Festival down in historic downtown Silverton ... there's great preview articles on the festival at Oregon Music News ... tickets are just $25 and get you into 12 venues and wineries. 

BTW, kudos to the Oregon Symphony for an outstanding performance last night at Carnegie Hall!
