It's Thursday again (seems to happen every week)

Which means lots of choices for tonight ...

Happy hour tonight always seem to include Lewi Longmire at the Laurelthirst (6pm, no cover) and Pete Krebs and the Portland Playboys at Duff's (6 pm, $2). It just does ... and we're all better for it.

Some other early (7pm) and free shows at the McMenamins venues include The Portland Cello Project at the Edgefield,  Sonny Hess hosts a Women in Blues show at the Kennedy School, and Steve Kerin commanding the Chapel Pub theater organ.

LiveWire Radio records another show tonight at the Mission Theater ... 7:30 pm, $20

And it's the usual with a twist at Jimmy Mak's with Mel Brown's B3 Organ Band ...but also including vocalist Curtis Salgado ... big fun ... 8 pm, $5

Lauren Sheehan provides some rootsy acoustic music at the Muddy Rudder ... 8 pm, no cover

The Garcia Birthday Band does their monthly jammy thing over at the White Eagle ... 8:30 pm, no cover

A couple of solid Seattle bands, Fences and Hey Marseille are at Mississippi Studios ... 9 pm, $10

And a very fine show at The Woods featuring Rachel Harrington with special guests Rita Hosking and McKinley (who will perform some songs from her soon to open musical, Gracie and the Atom) ... 9 pm, $7

More for the weekend tomorrow! Stay tuned ...
