Saturday and Sunday picks

More music to warm your weekend . . . and don't forget the Holiday Ale Festival going on in Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Saturday
It's happy hour at the Laurelthirst with the Little Sue Band (6 pm, no cover) ... followed by Lynn Conover at 9:30.

Fine show at Mississippi Studios with Kelly Joe Phelps and Krista Herring ... 9 pm, $17

Over at the Doug Fir it's the eclectic sounds of Poi Dog Pondering ... 9 pm, $15

Colin Lake and Wellbottom will be at the Mocks Crest Tavern ... 9 pm, no cover

Paris Slim & The Parasites, including Steve Kerin on keys, will be at the Trails End Saloon ... 9 pm, $??

Duff's Garage has the big band blues and swing of Johnny Ward's Sharkskin Review - wear your dancin' shoes for this one ...  9:30 pm, $??  (BTW, though I forgot this show in yesterday's list - douh!- Duff's was a blast last night with David Vest - do not miss him next time he's in town)

The Crystal Ballroom has Brett Dennen tonight, but more interesting to me on this bill is the opener - Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - check this band out ... 8 pm, $25

... and the Lewi Longmire Band will be at Biddy McGraw's  ... 10 pm, no cover

Sunday
The Aladdin will be swingin' with the western swing of the Hot Club of Cowtown. And the show will kick off with the 1930's swing jazz of The Stolen Sweets ... sweet! ... 8 pm, $18

Nevermind, I see you got it last night. But I bet you didnt know how cool Laura's viola player is, and that she also tours with Mirah sometimes. :)
