Diverse Thursday

Wow, feeling under the weather yesterday  I kinda ignored some great shows  - Tab Benoit, Chick Corea (!), Nick Jaina, Piano Throwers, and a bunch more - hopefully some of you got to a show or two.

But there's a boatload of cool and diverse choices for Thursday night.

If it's warm and Christmas-y you're looking for, the Aladdin is the place with the annual holiday shows by the Trail Band. Charming, entertaining and family-friendly, this has become a Portland tradition . . . looks like there's still tickets left - runs through the weekend with two shows on Saturday and Sunday... Various prices, 7 pm (and 3 pm for afternoon shows).

Happy hour? Pete Krebs and Portland Playboys are back for Thursdays at Duffs (6 pm). Lewi Longmire at the Laurelthirst (6 pm).

Later . . .
Miriam's Well will be at the Alberta Street Public House ... 7 pm, $??

Mel Brown's B-3 Organ Band at Jimmy Mak's ... 8 pm, $5

Rollie Tussing at Biddy McGraw's ... 9 pm, no cover

Stumptown Printers 10th Anniversary Celebration will feature Norfolk & Western at Holocene .... 9 pm, $10 (with catering by Voodoo Doughnuts ..... ohhhhh ... doughnuts)

The Charlie Hunter Trio will be at Mississippi Studios ... 9 pm, $18

Lisa and Her Kin at the Ponderosa Lounge (Jubitz) ... 9 pm, no cover

Anais Mitchell and Annie Bethancourt will be at The Woods ... 9 pm, $8

Edie Carey will be doing the later show at the Alberta Street Pub ... 9:30 pm, $12

Reggie Houston, Pete Krebs (busy guy!) and Tim Acott will do the late show at the Laurelthirst ... 9:30 pm, $??

Tell me you can't find something in that list that will get you out on a Thursday! And more great choices coming for Friday, too.
