Wake up Jim!

No, not sleeping . . . okay, maybe the heat last week temporarily rendered me slow (or slower than normal) . . . maybe it was staying up way past my bedtime at Pickathon last weekend . . . maybe I'm just makin' excuses . . .

It's Thursday, already after 4 and I really want to write a few things down about the upcoming weekend . . . maybe later. For now here's tonight and a couple to keep on the radar for tomorrow.

First . . . I did post earlier this week a reminder about the music going on this week and next every evening in Washington Park . . . starts at 6 pm and tonight it's The New Iberians - serving up some zydeo, cajun and big dose of fun. Understand Peter Dammann will be joining them tonight on guitar, too.

Always good happy hour shows around town - like Lewi Longmire at the Laurelthirst and Pete Krebs & the Portland Playboys at Duff's Garage.

Colin Lake and Wellbottom will be laying down some fine blues tonight at the White Eagle. 8:30 pm, free

For Friday I'll post a couple of more later or tomorrow, but keep in mind the monthly James Low happy hour at the Laurelthirst (6 pm, free) and you might want to follow that with the CD release show of the Don of Division Street at the Secret Society Ballroom (9 pm, $10)

And there's other good choices for the weekend, including a few choice musical happening at The Bite.
