Check out this band up from San Diego playing at the East End . . . recommendation came from Peter Dammann, one of Portland's best guitar players and they guy who books all the great acts for the Waterfront Blues Festival (this means when he talks, I listen) . . .
"One interesting act you missed mentioning: Friday night at the East End: Lady Dottie and the Diamonds, a punkish/bluesy version of Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings --- i.e. middle aged black diva belter out front, backed by a young white band that in this case comes from punk and alt-rock roots, playing a revisionist history of delta and Chicago blues."
I am definitely diggin' their tunes . . . . What a weekend of music . . . impossible not to find something that moves ya!
